Second edition of this Persian language grammar and vocabulary, first printed in Calcutta in 1803. The Hindustani version of the Pand Námah is entirely new. The vocabulary preceded by half title: Part second of the Hindee moral preceptor; or, The Hindee-Persic and English vocabulary, connected with the rudimental principles of Persian grammar. John Borthwick Gilchrist was a Scottish linguist who spent part of his career with the East India Company
