Clean very tight pages with bright unmarked yellow cloth boards, slight foxing to spine and to end papers, minor rubbing to spine ends and no bumping to corners. Dust jacket not price clipped with old tape mark to dust flaps and damp effect around upper spine area. 271pp. The author's travels around southern Italy and nearby islands, descrbed on the dust flap as 'a work of art' which blends the historical past with the improbable present administered with a gently mocking irony.
