First edition, and early reissue (Sept, 1936). Tall, thick 8vo, publisher's original gray cloth lettered in blue on the upper cover and spine. 1037 pp. A nice, solid copy of this American classic, the textblock and hinges fully intact, unusual for such a thick book, the depression era paper lightly toned but otherwise perfectly clean and unspotted, the gray cloth is lightly rubbed on the edges but is also very clean with the spine just darked ever so lightly by time.
