Signed on the ffep by the artist who produced all the book's calligraphic text 'Love to Kath, George Simpson Feb 1987'. No other inscriptions or marks. A lovely clean crisp very tight copy with bright unmarked boards and very minor bump to lower front corner. Dust jacket not price clipped or torn with light creasing to edges. 192pp. There are collected 101 comments on Hampstead and its inhabitants ranging from the lyricism of Keats to the satire of Alan Coren. Some previously unpublished writing is included, notably passages from the autobiography of Sylvia Lynd. Based on 1986 Exibition at Burgh House, New End Square. The text is in a calligraphic style throughout. Beautifully illustrated internally with many great photographs of Hampstead in black and white by Keith Wynn.
