"On the 17th of April 1851, a ship was launched from the yard of James Smith at Marsh Creek in Saint John, New Brunswick. She was the largest ship the yard had ever built and they named her Marco Polo." - from page 5. Former library copy with usual markings and library binding. Seven one-sided pages of text plus a three-page bibliography prepared by Deborah Carhart, and a list of 16 books beneath the heading 'Canadian Ship Marco Polo 1851-1883. The first four pages are entitled "The Wreck of the Marco Polo in Canadian Prize Stories" (written for the Montreal Witness). The next three pages are entitled "The Legend of the 'Marco Polo' Pride of all New Brunswick". Average wear. A sound working copy. Book
