Vintage Montreal Royals program for a 1960 game against the visiting Miami Marlins. Text in English and French. Nice photo ad inside front cover features Joe Altobelli of the Royals being fitted for a suit at Tony the Tailor Ltd. in Montreal. Altobelli went on to play in the majors and managed Baltimore to a World Series championship in 1983. Many other nice vintage ads. Article about league president Frank Shaughnessy and league secretary Harry Simmons and their concern that the Continental league will decimate the old International. Centerfold sponsored by Shopsy's features a cavalcade of photos of sportsmen in the media who cover the local team. Nice photo of young Marco Tomasso presenting an award to second baseman Kurt Roberts. List of home games for the year. Article (in French) on Willard Mitchell (Billy) Hunter. Article (in French) on Ron Perranoski. 24 pages. Unmarked with moderate wear. According to Wikipedia, in 1961 the team was moved to Syracuse, leaving Montreal without professional baseball until the arrival of the major league Expos in 1969. A nice copy of this great Royals collectible. Book
